No, I do not have to put a work order through the Adeptus Administratum but in certain ways it feels like I will be. There are a lot of Forge World models that will make my 31st Millennium Alpha Legion list that much cooler. For those that don't know, Forge World is based in the UK and focuses on AMAZING add-ons to the Games Workshop lines of models.
Putting together an International order can be an undertaking. Dealing with exchange rates, International shipping fees, and the stresses of making sure the order is exactly what you need; all add a level of complexity over domestic purchases. What if I order the wrong item? Sending it back for return/exchange is not an option. Ultimately, I wish GW retailers could stock (and make a fair profit on) Forge World products.
Enter: Bartertown.com
Bartertown, or B-Town, is a community forum for the purposes of trading and selling your used stuff. There are many forums out there like this but B-Town has treated me amazingly well. This week was no different! There wasn't a ton of Horus Heresy Forge World items on B-Town but I managed to find 1 that I need for my list: a Deimos Pattern Rhino kit!
The seller sent me the above picture and we made a deal! It went in the mail this past Friday and we should see it being assembled (maybe even painted) in Week 5.
What is the Forge World Deimos Pattern Rhino all about? Well, it's the refined version of the first Rhino that GW produced back in the 80's/early 90's. I say "refined" with the hope that the Forge World Rhino will go together better than the original...the original Rhino was a bear to put together! In the actual storyline (or fluff) the Mars Pattern was the first Rhino off the assembly line but the Deimos was an alternate version built on another Forge World and led to the to the current version we see in the 40k universe. (I edited this section on 07/09/13 after some further discoveries about the history of the Rhino!)

In conclusion, I still have to figure out what more I can acquire domestically and what I own already that can be used for this project. After that, I will boost the UK economy a bit with an order to Forge World!
'Till next week,
Swonkob Bo - OUT!
